Real Madrid have moved one step closer to signing Chelsea forward Eden Hazard after agreeing a five-year deal with Belgian, according to reports in Spain.
The Belgian has been strongly linked with a move to Los Blancos in recent seasons and a move is looking more likely following the return of Zinedine Zidane.
The Frenchman, who was reappointed as Los Blancos chief earlier this month, has been promised a massive overhaul of his current crop of players and has already signed Porto defender Eder Militao.
Hazard, 28, has always idolised Zidane and always dreamt of a move to Los Blancos.
The Blues winger has been stalling on signing a new contract with the west London club, with his current deal up at the end of next season.
LATEST FOOTBALL NEWS
In the latest development, Spanish outlet OK Diario are reporting Hazard has agreed a lucrative five-year contract with Real Madrid, worth £270k-a-week, after speaking directly to Zidane.
There had been reports earlier this week that Zidane was instead targeting Felipe Anderson, with Chelsea reluctant to sell Hazard due to their two-window transfer ban.
Similarly, contrasting reports in AS have stated Real Madrid have made PSG wonderkid Kylian Mbappe their main priority this summer, which could hand Blues chiefs a massive boost in their bid to keep hold of their prize asset.
Hazard has been Chelsea’s standout performer this season with 13 goals and 11 assists.
He was once again impressive on Thursday evening after netting twice in Belgium’s 3-1 victory over Russia.
