Chelsea are prepared to sell Eden Hazard to Real Madrid this summer for a whopping £87million – but only because letting him leave for free would have repercussions for their Financial Fair Play figures.
The Mail report that Hazard, who has made it clear he wants to end his trophy-laden seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge, will move on for the right price – despite the Blues currently being under a transfer embargo.
Maurizio Sarri’s men are unable to buy players for the next two transfer windows after being slapped with a transfer ban by FIFA.
The 28-year-old, who cost £32m from Lille in 2012, has one year left on his contract, with the Europa League final against Arsenal expected to be his final appearance for the club.
Real Madrid is the Belgian’s preferred destination, and Hazard will go with Chelsea’s blessing if the asking price is met by Real – owing to his widespread popularity.

The Blues have attempted to tie Hazard down to a new long-term deal for months and were prepared to make him one of the highest-paid players in the world.
However, Hazard has no intention of signing a new deal, so Chelsea have little option but to cash in.
The business model in place at Stamford Bridge relies on selling players, so therefore it would make little sense to run down the final year of Hazard’s contract, or indeed any of the club’s highest earners.

They would risk losing him for nothing next summer when his deal ends, which means the Blues would get no profit off Hazard’s exit.
The club’s accounts are under increased scrutiny in order to keep them within UEFA’s FFP regulations.
