Tottenham planning Champions League final victory parade… and it will take place just 24 hours after Liverpool clash

Tottenham are planning a victory parade for the possibility they beat Liverpool in the Champions League final – and it will take place just one day after the Madrid showpiece.

Spurs chiefs are in talks with Haringey Council over a route to take, which is expected to pass through Tottenham High Road before finishing at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham take on Liverpool in the Champions League final in Madrid on Saturday, June 1.

The Times claim the club had considered holding a victory parade on the Monday after the match to enable fans more time to get back from the Spanish capital.

However, it is thought more supporters will be able to attend on a Sunday.

Staff and players are also set to go on holiday on the Monday.

England boss Gareth Southgate is set to name his squad on Thursday for the country’s Nations League semi-final against the Netherlands.

And Tottenham’s decision to bring their possible victory parade forward by 24 hours means Southgate will have more time with Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Kieran Trippier, if the trio are called up.

Harry Kane, who has been sidelined with an ankle injury for most of 2019, could return from the treatment table in time for the final

It would be a huge boost for Spurs and England, who will hope their captain is fit for the Netherlands clash on June 6.

When asked if he’d be fit for the Champions League final last week, Kane said: “Hopefully. Rehab is going well so far.

“I start straight-line running this week. We’ll see.

“So far so good, so if it carries on as it should I would hope to be (fit). There’s still a few weeks to go.”
