Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona: Andy Robertson’s brilliant message for Luis Suarez after Champions League miracle

Andy Robertson fired a brilliant message to former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez after his Barcelona side were miraculously dumped out of the Champions League at Anfield.

Suarez aimed a couple of cynical kicks at the Scotsman, forcing him to come off at half-time, but the Reds still found the 4-0 victory they needed to progress on another special European night.

And after the game, when asked about the incident by BT Sport, Robertson said: “Who’s going to the final?”

He added: “We’re going to the final, that’s all that matters.

“This team’s incredible, seriously. I’ve said it so many times this season but my god, what a team.

“We believed, that’s the strangest thing. Many people wrote us off but we believed that if we got off to a good start we could start.

“Divock got the goal and the rest is history. Fair play to all the lads.

“We go into Sunday full of energy now. It’s out of our hands but we’ve seen stranger things happen here haven’t we?”

Robertson was actually replaced by Georginio Wijnaldum, who struck two goals within a minute – so you could say Suarez’s antics have come back to bite him.

Divock Origi opened the scoring on seven minutes before the Dutchman’s quickfire double.

The striker then capitalised on some quick thinking by Trent Alexander-Arnold from a corner to seal the memorable victory.
