Raheem Sterling: Manchester City winger gives brilliant response when Piers Morgan asks him to join Arsenal

Raheem Sterling has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this season and it is easy to see why so many clubs would want the Manchester City winger.

Arsenal fan Piers Morgan even tried to get him to sign for the Gunners, but the 24-year-old had the perfect response to his cheeky request.

Morgan has been a vocal critic of Sterling in the past, particularly over the machine gun tattoo on his leg which came to media attention just before last summer’s World Cup.

But the Good Morning Britain presenter took to Twitter to congratulate the England star after he was awarded the Integrity and Impact Award at the BT Sport Industry Awards 2019.

Piers Morgan congratulated Sterling on Twitter

He wrote: â€Å“Congrats @sterling7. Your continued evolution as a footballer & a man of important cultural influence is very impressive.”

Sterling then thanked Morgan. He said: â€Å“Thanks Piers. I’ve come a long way.”

Morgan then saw his opportunity to try and convince the winger to join his team.

He added: â€Å“Haha, you have. But more power to you. Life’s about self-improvement & you’ve turned yourself into a brilliant role model on & off the pitch. Now, since I’ve got your ear, how about joining Arsenal?”

But the former Liverpool man dodged the question with a brilliant reply.

â€Å“I’m running out of battery, sorry,” he tweeted back, adding three running emojis to the message.

Sterling has scored 17 goals and got 10 assists for City in the Premier League this season and his brilliant performances have seen him nominated for both player and young player of the season awards.
