Toni Kroos: Paris Saint-Germain plotting summer raid for £68m rated Real Madrid midfielder

Paris Saint-Germain are plotting a summer raid for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, according to reports.

The French champions are looking to bolster their squad in the wake of their shock Champions League elimination by Manchester United.

And according to OK Diario and Sport, Kroos is right at the top of their wishlist, with PSG prepared to pay up to £68m for his services.

The Spanish publications also claim that PSG are willing to offer Kroos a 50 per cent pay rise on his current deal at Real, which would be an enticing proposition for the German.

With Adrien Rabiot expected to leave the club, Kroos has been identified as the perfect replacement.

However, the return of Zinedine Zidane as Real’s manager could scupper their plans as the Frenchman sees Kroos as an important part of the team.

Kroos was a key part of the three successive Champions League triumphs achieved under Zidane, but his form has dipped consideridably following a change of manager last summer.

Kroos has found the net just once in 36 matches this season and supplied five assists in all competitions as Real have struggled for momentum.

They trail the league leaders and their arch nemesis Barcelona by 12 points , while they were also stunned in the Champions League by Ajax.
